Education Programs - Northern Zone

Our programs are designed to support employees who are starting or transitioning into new practice settings or roles through acquisition and application of knowledge and skills. Our programs are designed and facilitated by members of our team using adult learning methods and principles and drawing on evidence and best practices.

PROFESSIONAL PRACTICE ORIENTATION

This session introduces regulated health care professionals to overarching principles, concepts and resources that support an understanding of professional practice within NSH; regardless of designation, geographical location, or practice setting they will be working within. Professional Practice Orientation is followed by a point of care/unit-based preceptorship and the development of the new employee learning and development plan with the Health Service Manager (HSM), Clinical Nurse Educator (CNE)/Professional Practice Coordinator (PPC), in addition to other clinical leaders and is meant to align and complement the above components to support your area’s transition to practice of new health professionals.
